About the session

AMLR is a change programme, not a policy update

The EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR) applies from 10 July 2027. It replaces national rules with a single, directly applicable rulebook across the EU, and it will reshape how firms onboard and monitor customers, identify beneficial owners and govern AML/CFT compliance.

Delivering AMLR means changes to customer journeys, data, systems, controls and culture, across teams that do not report to compliance. The regulation also places clear accountability on the management body and the compliance function. In many firms, the Compliance Officer will be expected to drive this change.

Finvisor and its guests will set out the key changes AMLR brings and how firms can deliver them. We will look at how to manage change across the organisation and how to put the Compliance Officer in a position to lead it.

What we will cover

Seven topics, one programme

  1. The key changesCustomer due diligence, beneficial ownership, PEPs, ongoing monitoring and periodic review, and group-wide requirements, with what each means in practice.
  2. Governance and accountabilityWhat AMLR expects of the management body, the board member responsible for AML/CFT and the compliance manager, and how to make those roles work together.
  3. Empowering the Compliance OfficerSecuring the mandate, access, budget and resources to lead implementation, and building the case for change with the board and executive team.
  4. Managing change across the organisationBringing product, operations, technology, HR and vendors into the programme so changes are owned by the business, not just by compliance.
  5. Building a programme that deliversScoping the gap analysis, setting governance and reporting, managing dependencies and keeping momentum to July 2027.
  6. Your existing customer bookPlanning remediation without disrupting customers or operations.
  7. Embedding the changeTraining, culture and evidence. You need to be able to show your supervisor that the new framework works, not just that it exists.
